Through meetings of iloveriverhead and our network committed to downtown revitalization, task groups have been formed to:

start a downtown community garden;
start a downtown civic association and address downtown neighborhood and housing issues;
expand the downtown farmers market; and
reach out to the town’s youth to involve them in rejuvenation efforts.

Downtown revitalization and rejuvenation was a hot topic this week. We had an iloveriverhead meeting on Monday evening. On Thursday, the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce held a special early morning meeting on the subject, which I attended.
